If was just four years ago that I was feeding my new baby born with special needs hypoallergenic formula though an Ng tube. Breastfeeding was about the only thing I knew for sure that I wanted to be able to do for him during such an uncertain time, and I was devastated that it didn’t work out for us. A year later my daughter was born went right to the breast and never looked back, it was like a dream. Two and a half years after that my youngest came along and to say he’s happiest at the boobs is an understatement. Somewhere in the middle of having my own babies I watched sisters having babies, friends having babies, friends of friends having babies, all learning as they went along throughout pregnancy, birth and post-partum. After a lot of watching, encouraging, and supporting, I decided that I wanted to learn more, advocate stronger, and turn this passion of mine into a career. That was when I started my journey to become a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
I believe that women need so much support during pregnancy and beyond. It takes a village to raise a child, but what about to nurture the mama who is sharing this child with the world? My vision is to promote and support a healthy breastfeeding relationship for both baby and mama. I wholeheartedly believe that you are both better together.
